Thomas Edison once said ”Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration.”

Taking that to heart AtomicArt will be the genius of the atomic community, rising up out of the ashes of its slow death to become the creative centre of a vast group of intellectuals. The perspiration is the key, I know you all have inspiration, but for the beast to live we must work for it.

Two years of inactivity is inexcusable, and I apologise, as an apology I will try to get this community up and running again.

I would like to start off where we left off, The Holiday Season, with a new challenge.

I would also like to propose a new competition

From Beef: Hey guys and girls sorry about the inactivity lately, but I know MNPs being doing a good job looking after you guys, and running little activities that have all improved your design/art skills.

On the topic of that, I logged on last night to Devianart for the first time in about 2 months, checked out some of the work you guys have recently done, and gawd damnnnn everyones improved an absolute shiteload.

I'll be around a little more often now, trying to ogranize more events and actually submitting some of my own artwork.

ATOMICART, a club dedicated to devious atomicans.

So I started this club seeing as there were so many users out there on the AtomicMPC forums that were also Deviants. Any Atomican can join wether they do 3D renders, Vectors or even Poems. It's a club open to anyone that is willing to be involved.

Originally Cyberswine had the idea for a community like this and I offered to help out. But with lack of time and effort (lol), we pretty much both ignored it for a while. Now it's finally happened though, so shout out to Cyberswine for the masterminding the idea.

There'll be many competitions and events in the future.. so wait for further updates.

_CURRENT CHALLENGE

The Holiday Spirit

The challenge is for you to make a deviation that sums up what you believe the Holiday Spirit is.

There is no restriction on what media you use to convey the Idea, be it a painting, photomanip or prose.

The challenge is not a comp but an exercise to get the creative juices flowing and to practice to get them skills a growing.

Challenge will end 3 January 2007

I have just noticed that in the whole existance of AtomicArt we havent had a Dev ID.

Rules:

1. Proportions must be reasonable, typical Dev Id size

2. It has to convey atOmic, so the O is a must.

3. You have to be creative

Competition closes 6 January 2007

Voting will start 7 January 2007

Winning entry will be used as our ID
